Top 10 Emerging Influential blogs 2013: Definitely Librarian : Find out the reasons why bloggers voted for a Librarian

The Digital Influencer's Marketing Summit was held last September 21, 2013 at SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

It was also my first time to attend an event like that. I guess, because I am new in this blogging thingy. I am also grateful for the organizers of the summit because they had given me a free slot (Note: Conference fee is PhP1, 500)

I learned a lot from the speakers. From Measuring digital influence, to Mommy Influencer (which interested me because I started blogging when I became a Mommy), Using Social Media for Marketing, Digital branding, Vlogging, Building Online Communities, Using Social Media to inspire, and Bloggers as Digital Influencers and a lot more.

One of the highlights of the event is recognizing the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2013.

Even if I wasn't able to make it to the Top 10, it is an honor for me to be nominated as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs. Being nominated in the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2013 is like being a winner in a prestigious award. :)

Here's the Definitely Librarian's Blog background:

How my blog started? I started blogging because of reading Mommy blogs. But when I attended a Library Automation Boot Camp in Cebu, that's how I started my Librarian's Online Diary. I have to take down notes but I don't have a pen and a notebook. What I have with me is my net book (sometimes I have a "senior moments") so I take down notes using my net book and save it in my blog. Of course, my first "fans" are the librarian participants in the said seminar.

Who influenced me? I could say that I am an accidental blogger. I have two librarians in mind when I created Definitely Librarian's blog. It's Zarah Gagatiga and Von Totanes. They are a very good Digital Influencer in the area of Librarianship.

When I attended the iblog9 as a speaker (for Mommy blogs), I learned that there are lots of opportunities in the blogosphere. After the summit, I thought that it would be nice if I could also apply it in librarianship.

Steps taken to build influence? I am librarian. I love reading and at the same time has passion in blogging.

I am so inspired of the 9th Philippine Blogging Summit and to Ms. Janette Toral , that is why I founded the Green Bloggers Club (student organization for Grade 8-12). One of the reasons why I created it because nowadays young bloods are exposed to Social Media. I wanted to tie social media and social responsibility among the youth.

Last September 19, 2013 we had Mini blogging Summit here in De La Salle Zobel. Our speakers were Eyriche Cortez and Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas. They talk about Blogging, Social Media and Students.

I am also promoting different activities, forum or seminars organized by different Philippine Library Associations through my blogs.

What's next? This November, I will participate in the two big events

The 3rd Filipino ReaderCon http://filipinoreadercon.wordpress.com/about-2/ I am one of the Librarian Book Blogger who will be at the Book Reco Fair wherein I will prepare book list and recommend books to the participants.
The 2nd Laguna Blogging Summit http://labsph.com/ wherein I am one of the speakers.

I think this is also part of my advocacy as an educator and a librarian.

I could also say that blogs is not only focused on businesses. It can also be applied to Education, Teachers, Libraries and Librarian's world to market/ promote it to our clients (our students and faculty members).

As Anne Curtis' line in her sizzling (No Other Woman) movie "I know the market, because I am the market..."
